The Best Accredited Yoga Teacher Training in Metro Vancouver (That Isn’t Downtown)

Let’s be honest: If you live in Metro Vancouver or the Lower Mainland, commuting into downtown Vancouver for a yoga teacher training is a fast track to burnout—especially when you are dedicating your precious time to learning the healing, grounding practice of yoga.

If you live in Coquitlam, Burnaby, New West, the surrounding Tri-Cities, or even Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Surrey, Langley and beyond, you shouldn't have to spend hours in transit just to receive a premium, college-level yoga certification.

That is why we are thrilled to announce the Yoga Teacher Training Foundations Program from Coastal College of British Columbia takes place right here at Jai Yoga in Coquitlam. Jai Yoga is proud to be the location where the training happens.

Here is everything you need to know about Metro Vancouver’s most accessible, community-driven, and regulated Yoga Teacher Training.

Why Choose a PTIRU (formerly PTIB) Accredited Yoga College?

When you are researching 200-hour and 240-hour programs, you will likely see a mix of local studios and registered colleges. While many studios offer wonderful programs, choosing a course run by an accredited institution like Coastal College of BC offers massive, tangible benefits for your career.

Because this program operates under the strict educational standards of the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU),  Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, you are earning a recognized certification from an accredited college, not just a studio certificate.

This means the training qualifies for government funding, student loans, and official tax receipts (T2202), making your education highly accessible and respected across the industry.

The Best of Both Worlds: College Credibility Meets Studio Soul

The biggest hesitation students have about yoga colleges is the fear that the training will feel too academic, sterile, or disconnected from the spiritual roots of yoga.

This program offers something different.

The training takes place within the warm, welcoming walls of Jai Yoga. You get rigorous, top tier college accreditation in a setting known for its intimacy, its lineage, and its deep love of the practice.

You will be learning in a space where philosophy and community are part of the culture, surrounded by people who live and practice yoga every day.

A Schedule Designed for Your Real Life

We know you are balancing work, family, and life. This program is designed to fit a busy schedule!
